Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Year is two patient decades of wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, hand-selected by Julian Van Winkle III from the oldest barrels Buffalo Trace has to offer. Bottled at a measured 90.4 proof to preserve depth without burn, this small-batch release shows everything that long aging in deeply charred American oak can do to a wheated mash: dark caramel, fig, prune, toasted oak, leather and dark chocolate, all balanced by the soft Van Winkle sweetness. Non-chill-filtered, hand-dipped in green wax, individually numbered, and heavily allocated each year.
